o2 and Shades Optical collaborated on an installation for Movement 2008: Detroit's Electronic Music Festival. Working from the theme of "seeing the world differently," we created two installations based on stereoscopic 3D. The first was a fifty-foot long banner weaving through a wooded area in Hart Plaza. Detroit landmarks were photographed and composited as anaglyph images, with a dimensional red line representing the city's creative energy running though all the scenes. When viewed through 3D glasses, the red line visually vibrates among the buildings and sculptures. The second installation was a 3D drawing tool called SKETCH3D. It works much like an Etch-a-Sketch, but with a third knob for the Z-axis.
