A Smart Bag
The "eco-shopping bag" seems to be an anachronism of our time. Something so simple and "low-tech" in a world obsessed with instant gratification and automation seems to catch all of us off guard. We have all gone to the grocery store and forgotten our "eco-bags" in our car or have been stuck behind someone in the checkout line while they frantically run out to their car to grab their bags much to the dismay of the proletarian Whole Foods shoppers waiting anxiously to return home in their SUVs.
So what can we do? How can we balance thedichotomybetween the humble "eco shopping bag" and the contemporaryfashionsocial runway that is otherwise known as the "checkout line"? What if we had a bag that would remind us to be responsible?
Enter o2s GPS-enabled "A Shirt Bag". Using a basic GPSReceiverand embeddedmicro-controller, the bag will provide an auditory reminder to the user every time they approach a retail/grocery store location in the Royal Oak area. Complete with a map printed on the bag itself and LEDsdetonatingthe actual shopping locations in the map, the bag will act as a bridge between the eco-friendly and the ethos of our contemporary consumer culture.
